New guy intro
« on: February 10, 2015, 08:10:44 PM »
Howdy! Another new guy from San Tan Valley, Az.

So registering here is the start of my ratrod journey. Hoping to read some good threads and learn something along the way. While I'm saving up the funds for the project, I need to try to figure out that I am wanting out of my build. What I thought would be easy, is becoming quite challenging for find what body that I want to start with.

Hello from S Illinois Thinking outside the box can open up a lot of possibilitys for a body I used a VW Wagons and 4 doors are also a probability .Also there cheaper as some POS model A bodies can get really expensive. Using an s-10 frame can make that cheaper than building a frame. I used a ranger frame as I'm a Ford guy.

Welcome to the nation corbin.......start out with what you can find that is affordable. Seems almost everything is so overpriced right now, it's not funny. But there are still some good deals to be had.
Love building rat rods, driving mustangs, and building websites.

Thanks for the welcome fellas.

Funny you mention in my neighborhood... I've been working on this guy over the last 2 years regarding his F1. The first few times I have stopped and asked, he wanted nothing to do with the conversation. Now days he is starting to open up a little and we will BS for 30 mins or so. So at this rate, I might have some luck sometime next year.  ;D

It is overwhelming about how many versions one could build. My issue is that I finally get an idea that I want to build, then I stumble across something online, which gives me a whole other idea. Ah well, being my first build, this will be a learning curve for me, something for me to cut my teeth on for the next build.

I like the feeling of finding one thing and imagining what it could look like. I think our hobby is an art, not just a build and each ride is a little different. Hopefully you'll find the right body for your build and we here at the nation can see the build transformation.

Corbin Get yourself a white board to look at as you decide on your build I use mine for a list of done vs need to do. It also helps you not forget the little things like bolt up that bracket/put oil in ... get this or that also It will or can be a motivator! as you watch stuff go from To Do to DONE side

That's a cool idea lowboy! I have sort of started something like that, but for ideas. I have a folder of pics that I've found online of some cool ideas, which have led to some some ideas of my own. I'm famous for forgetting things, so that is one way I can keep track of my great and not-so-great ideas.

I like how your Wife/Daughter/GF snuck her little corner in, haha.  ;)
