Hello from NW Arkansas
« on: June 01, 2011, 09:46:23 AM »
Hello fellow rodders and rat friends, its great to be here!  My wife and I recently moved back to AR having spent (3) great years in Fort Worth, TX.  I am originally from Mtn. Home, AR, where bonfires, driving old trucks, and a passion for the outdoors helped define me.  I am currently working as a guide for the Buffalo River Canopy Tour in Ponca, on the Buffalo National River- check out the Buffalo Outdoor Center- http://www.buffaloriver.com/.  I also am involved with challenge course work at the JBU/ Soderquist BaseCamp and at New Life Ranch in Colcord, OK.  My wife and I were fortunate to participate in the 2008 Hot Rod Power Tour as Long Haulers, driving the distance from Fort Worth, TX to Madison, WI and back in my $400 rat-inspired 52 Chevy 3-window 5/8 ton flatbed.  The 13-year veterans named me 'Flatbed Fred'!  Well, as you can see I am a bit quirky, but passionate none-the-less!  Have been to several Goodguys events in Ft. Worth, O'Reilly's Street Machine Nationals in Little Rock, 2010 Power Tour, and the HotRod Hoedown 2009 in New Caney, TX.  My 52 Chevy- 'Moonshine'- needs some attention this summer and its good that I've already torn into and dismantled my 51 1&1/2 ton Chevy and planning on mating it to a 73 Pontiac Grand Am frame with Olds 455. Bobber style and bags would be cool!! ;D  Anyways, great to be here!!  :D

Were somewhat a like. I too lived in NW Ark around Wally Land, Springdale. plus Dallas,Richardson. Took in a lot of the activitys in the DFW and NW Ark car show/cruizes. Moved to middle America where it is SsssLllOoWwww compaired to those 2 worlds. But the one saving grace is the LeadSled Nationals in Salina. The last week-end of July every year.Maybe our paths will cross some day.
