Gas pedal, custom or buy
« on: September 15, 2012, 11:01:16 PM »
Was thinking today about a gas pedal and how to make a cool looking one or just buy one. The one that come to mind to build was one made out of a connecting rod from a 350. Then my Uncle had an old shoe repair stand that has shapes of the bottoms of shoes and it has 3 different sizes. Does anyone have any ideas or cool pictures?

I commend you for wanting to fabricate something unique and different, instead of just buying a generic part.

I fabricated all three of my pedals. They're just simple and functional however, nothing fancy. The gas pedal was made from a big rig chrome mudflap anti-sail bracket.

I would like to build some iron cross pedals. I think they would look way different.

I like the connecting rod idea , seems a bit heavy though . It would take some stiff return springs .
That's not dust in your eyes ...... it's RUST !!!
