English newbe saying hi!
« on: May 10, 2011, 11:18:53 AM »
Evening chaps

I'm a rodder from England currently building a 50 Fiat Topolino pick up for my wife.....all steel body modified in to a truck cab with a 32 Ford pick up bed. It's being built for very little money, as we don't have any and it currently owes us just £330 ($500)...For ease of build and to fit with UK regulations it's being built on a VW Beetle floor pan. yeah I know I'm gona get burned for that but building a Rod in the UK has got real hard in the last couple of years and basically the body swap I'm doing get's around most of the legal shit.
My rod is a 28A roadster, fully fendered running a 350 SBC and 700r4....I have a 13 sec timing slip for that and it's a regular daily commuter for work...it's impossible to use it daily because of the price of gas.....$10-$12 a gallon over here so my round trip to work is around $50!!...

Thanks for posting this Paul--if only to get these whinnniiingg cry babies in the US to STFU about gas prices.  We've always had it too good here, now we're getting what we deserve for being in bed with those Saudi bastards.  :P
