Wow, what a shot.

If the car had been equipped with seat belts the driver would be dead twice over. He would have been held in the car when it flipped, his neck broken and his skull crushed, then burned to death trapped upside down by the belts. The absence of seat belts may have saved his life.

I totally agree on that. You know that some group will make an issue of it. But safety is everything, breaks, wheels, tires, etc.

I would guess that a lot will say If he had been wearing his seatbelt it would be all better, but a ride like that is about the same as a motorcycle and you don't want to stay tied to it when poopy stuff happens. Driver distracted, drinking, or losing control might have been a bigger problem than safety equipment or lack thereof.
