1950 studebaker champion
« on: January 30, 2012, 08:39:45 PM »
Here she is. I bought her on labor day 2011 out of a farmers cow pasture. Body is real solid. The floor needs minor patching. Plans as of now are a gm 4.3l v6 carbureted, nv3500 5spd trans, and a Trans am rear end with 2.72 gears. I want it to be a cruiser not a burn out machine. I'm obsessed with the thought of bringing back to life a car that was left for dead and making it cruise the highways once again.

I took interest to this car for three reasons. One being they are rare to see runnin around. Two my grandpa had a 51 champion with the ohv v8 in it and it was his favorite car he ever had. And three because its very unique looking. Thanks for the interet guys ill keep you as updated as i can every step of the way.

I got to work on her for a couple hours the other morn. I removed the seats and cleaned the floor out. Found more holes than I expected but I can deal. The B pillar on the passenger side is no longer attached aswell from rust. Also got the front fender vents open and the passenger front door too. All doors and hatches open and the hinges are good! My seat frames are in good shape, I might recover them and use em.

Well I thought id update how the build is going. Still gathering and  planning. I moved the car to a new faciltiy for more room and more tools. I have my eye on an s10. Have the motor and trans- 4.3l v6 and nv3500 trans. I made a spoiler template and am going to use the front of a '71-'72 chevelle hood as a visor. Hopefully winter will give me time to progress.

Another update: Got another s10! This time 2wd. Will have to add to this frame. In the mean time my father and I are working on finishing his 54' dodge before getting to my Stude. Hope to make it to the local Rat show in May with the Dodge
