2 main thoughts behind this post were to get those that do that in there own shop to be more cautious and more observant.

Damn, That really suxs... One thing to remember is that if you are a smoker or if you like to light your torch with a "BIC LIGHTER" DON'T !!! My dad had a friend that used to light his torch with a BIC lighter.. To make a long story short...he put the lighter back in his pants pocket and started to cut shocks off an old truck  a spark landed on his pants and burned thru the pants and the pocket and into the lighter which "EXPLODED" Blowing his right leg off. Before his workers could stop the bleeding, he bleed to death...Life's to short as it is so please use a striker.

Wooow..... That's one horrible story to learn from.. That will make you think twice about having a bic type lighter in your pocket while using a torch/welder....

when i was little a building at Mt Pleasent Iowa burnt down when "hired" help was using a torch then went to lunch only to return to a fire  :o Dad enployed a rule that in our shop (now in my shop also) NO ONE LEAVES QuICKER THAN 30 MINS AFTER LAST SPARK FLIES!! Never had any problems but i aint takin the chance
