I got a 70ish model corvette frame given to me for free I was wondering if the front suspension would fit under my 47 chevy fleetmaster thanks dalton
-
I would start by measuring the track/width front & rear then the wheelbase/length.
Other considerations might be the width at the center section. Keep in mind that
the frame can and often is modified to fit as well as the body altered to fit the frame
as in channeling etc.
Sounds like major work but it would also give you a nice driving hot rod when done...

thanks

Be well worth the work....plus it was FREE

Ok this is what I've found out the Corvette front tracking is 58.7 inches, from 1968-83.
And the tracking for the 1947 fleetmaster is 56.69 inches (two inches smaller than the corvette).
Which is only an inch on each side it should work but:
**** YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO WITH A POSITIVE OFFSET WHEELS TO BRING THE WHEELS BACK UNDER THE CAR. ****
I guess you really wont know until you try.

Frame would be much harder to make right than just the front suspension.
imo.

thanks you guys for the info

Go for it, never take the easy way out. The vette frame can be made to work.
