Former Car Club - Crazy-8's of Missouri
IlikeImpala's:
I want to share some old car club pic's from the now gone Crazy-8's of Missouri. The group died in the early 2000's and most of these cars have changed hands by now. But its cool to look back and remember all the drag racing (and S.C.C.A. racing prior) that we did at the old Mid America Raceway, and Gateway Int Raceway.

Wow, some very nice rides. Not sure about where you live, but here in Cheyenne, it's really tough to get a car club up and running. In the early 2000's I was in a mustang group (street racers). Once everyone started breaking down during races, the group grew apart. Had some really good times in my twin turbo mustang.

Our problem was a couple of the guys started auto painting businesses without any of the legal aspects of a legit business. So they kept getting thrown out of rental storage units, and trailer parks, etc. So that created the in-fighting and everyone split off or got married.
The 63 Impala (flames on front) was the fastest car in the group. I was running a 68 GMC pickup at that time. My best was a 15.7 in the quarter on the hopped up factory 307/400 turbo. It was deceptively fast for my not having any cubic inches in a 4000lbs truck!
I have a couple other pictures of group members cars that I will add later. Just need to find them....

Very kool pix thanks for sharing.

15.7 is pretty damn good for a 307.
