Squaring up a cab

(1/2) > >>

Young_Rat:
So my doors don't close on my 35 IHC.They have always been crooked..No floor in it.Hasent really ever had one as long as I can remember.lol.The strap in my pics is literaly holding the cab together.Any tips on getting it squared up? Doesn't have to be perfect, its a rat.

lowboy:
Pix? Do you have a porta-power? I've used a bottle jack and 4x4s before. Without seeing it I'd get some rebar and use it to weld in. I used 1x1 square tubes just because thats what I had.

Granpascrazzy:
IS there a reason for the "splices" in the tubing or just what you had???

lowboy:
Kinda yes to both I spliced them so your cuts don't have to be perfect and they were also scrap pieces. if you need to readjust you can take a cutoff wheel and cut your welds with out wasting a bunch of tubing

Blackwater:
You can make your adjusting rods two pieces.  Make them long enough to overlap and you can adjust repeatedly by clamping them with vise grips and checking your fit without welding and cutting the rods over and over!!
