I am welding in patches and the pic is of one . Question some think I should grind them down and full . And others think I should just let it rust and be done . I know it is up to me but what is your thoughts on it

Personally i would take the time and grind them down. Just make sure when you do the grinding, you keep the metal cool so it doesn't warp. I usually keep a coffee can of water, a shop towel and grind. Use the damp shop towel to cool the metal. Works out pretty nicely. I understand the thoughts of not grinding off welds, but i think body patches need grinding. If you were chipping a top, i would say it's up to you, grind or leave.......

That's some nice looking work there!

Re grinding the welds, how about a compromise - semi-finish them. Take the bulk of the weld down but leave enough just so you can tell that you patched it?  It will look clean without being neurotically perfect.
