Topic: Model A front axle width 46 or 48"?

Researching online and on here but can't find a definite answer to this.  I see both 46" and 48" dropped I-beam axles, what width is needed for the Model A?

Either will work; it is mostly personal preference. 

If you are going to run fenders and you want the wheels/tires centered in your fender, use the 46" wide axle. If you're going fenderless, or prefer to have your tires out closer to the edge of the fenders, or are restoring a stocker, you can use the 48 inch.

Here is what a 46 will look like from the front. Note that the center tread of the tire is in the center of the fender.

I agree , if you are trying to match the width of the rear end that could also be a factor .

I just ordered a 46" wide one for my postal jeep. have no clue what it will look like,just wingin it

don't worry there is only a 2" difference .
