New from Texas
« on: October 04, 2015, 10:40:26 AM »
This is my first post. Little about me. Just getting into Rats. My uncle and Grandfather just finished their first and have inspired me to think about a build myself. Generally my mechanical knowledge is limited, but I do have some and am looking to learn. Any suggested reading or tips for building on a budget are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks
Andrew

I am doing some work for a coworker of my wife and getting a complete 91 dodge Dakota v6, thought it may make a good frame to start with. Even considering using the motor

Welcome to the nation from S Illinois Ask all the questions you want or need to. We have a super knowledge base around here who will only say something negative if it's unsafe. Been doing the rat thing for about 5 years and still am open to critisizm! The best way to upset me is not saying something is unsafe.

Welcome to the nation, it's great to meet ya. The Dakota set up should work on just about anything from 1940 and up. Anything under may be to narrow to fit. If it's under 1940, measure the section where the trans crossmember is and the width of you cab/body.
Love building rat rods, driving mustangs, and building websites.
