Greetings from the Garden State
« on: February 08, 2014, 06:47:54 PM »
Greetings all, new around here and just started a project on a '70 Catalina.  Hadn't run in over 10 years and hasn't been registered for 17 years.  Has a relatively decent body considering the crap we throw on our roads around here.  Pulled her out of the field the day after the ice storm and managed to get it fired up today, running off a snowthrower fuel tank.  Damn it blows through a half gallon of gas in a hurry at idle.  I'ts a 350 with a TH350 trans.  Kinda like the rust primer faded paint patina, but really not sure where I'm going yet with that.  Lots of work ahead though.  Going to start pulling front clip off to get radiator cleaned out and rebuild or regasket the engine.  Probably freshen the trans while I'm at it.  That will keep me busy while I figure cosmetic strategy.  Here's a few pics.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.  It's nice that this site doesn't have a "late model" cutoff, like some others out there.  Sort of had something like this in mind possibly.  Not sure who's this is but it's damn cool.

Welcome to the Nation, yup, Poncho's are cool.
The picture you showed us is a 1960 Pontiac Ventura ( about 2-4" inches shorter than Bonneville) had one for a long time, great cruiser.  Working on a 68 Pontiac currently.
