Title: looking for lettering ideas

Hi all,I'm looking for some tips on putting some lettering on the side of my boys truck. Problem is I would like it to look about as old as the truck! Didn't realize it at the time but when we cut the bed down under the rust you could see a very light,faded,rusted.   Guys hardware 267-????! But I had already destroyed it til I seen it and since then my mind has been wondering how to try do something like it! Any ideas,input would be greatly appreciated
