Random observation: Dozens of people say “That’s not a rat! That’s a piece of junk!” “Nope! Not for me!” “That’s the worst thing, ever! I hate it! What a terrible ride!”
But, guess what? It got the second-most votes out of any of the vehicles we saw at SEMA. #differentstrokes.
You really have to observe the Aluminum Dually Hauler to respect the build. Cutworm Specialties took six months just to build the all-aluminum body and bed, helping the ride win the inaugural “Ride Your Hauler to SEMA” contest.
Cutworm Specialties built the suspension, spindles, axle and lug nuts from scratch. The interior is completely hand-made, including the seats, dash, steering wheel and pedals. The rear axle and 19.5-inch wheels are from a motor home. And the hauler is uniquely and adequately powered by a 1967 Lincoln 460 V8 engine with built C6 transmission that produces between 575 and 600 horsepower.
It might not be a rat rod. It might not be for you. But there’s no denying how awesome it is.
