37-48 spindle steering arms
« on: May 15, 2014, 08:18:17 PM »
Hey everyone. I have 37-48 spindles and a drop axle..  The stock steering arms hit the axle and limit the travel..  I have been looking at bolt on arms however the large drop ones say not for use with spring behind the axle.. Can anyone fill me in on why???

Speedway designs their systems to route the tie rods between the radius rods, so if you use the Speedway spring-behind setup the tie rod will interfere with the lower radius rod. You can overcome this by running the tie rod out front. This is a spring-over but you get the idea. Note I heated and bent the steering arms to obtain the correct Ackerman angle.

Ah I see you have them out front looks like I'll be  cutting my stock arms off as my spindles have been cleared for f100 brakes. And if I was to flip them then the flex lines would be running forwards..
So my best bolt on option is the flat plate ones and run them forward to obtain good Ackerman
