Voltage Reducer 12 v - 6 v
« on: October 20, 2012, 02:28:22 PM »
If you are running any original 6-volt accessories on a 12-volt system, Speedway will sell you this voltage reducer for $18.00:

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Electric-12-Volt-to-6-Volt-Reducer-for-Motors,15824.html

In fact, it is nothing more than a 50-watt 1 ohm resistor, available at your local electronics dealer, or online, for under $5.00.

http://www.amazon.com/Amico-Screw-Wirewound-Aluminium-Resistor/dp/B0087ZCYTK/ref=sr_1_6?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1350764593&sr=1-6&keywords=1+ohm+50+watt+resistor

If it's a "voltage reducer," it's $18. If it's a "resistor, " it's only $5!!!

Low amperage stuff can be powered by using a cell phone charger, output is 5.5v @ 15mA. Good for clocks and the like.
