3 percent positive rake.
« on: August 19, 2013, 11:18:04 AM »
I have my front end completed.  Now I hear I need to give the front axle 3 percent positive rake.  Does anyone have a video of how to do it.

I don't have a video, but it's pretty simple if you are running a hairpin front end. On the top of your king pins on your axle, place an angle finder. Tip your king pin towards your cab until you reach your 3* to 7* angle. Then lock down your suspension. Now take it for a test drive.......Don't go fast right away, build up your speed slowly, just incase you get the death wobble. If you get the death wobble, check your tires toe in, and recheck your rake.....

the more caster you have will increase stability at speed and also increase steering wheel return after making a turn .
