I'm cleaning the new motor up. Tomorrow I'm going to paint it. Any color suggestions? I was thinking of keeping it simple & just do a gloss black

I went with gloss black. I also bought silver to spray the pulley & water pump.

A couple more parts sprayed. I'm patiently waiting on this gasket kit to come in. I hope it's here by Saturday

Black and silver is a classy color combination.  My old 31 Ford pickup engine compartment and undercarriage was all black and silver.

Well I finally got the old motor pulled & disassembled. Had my buddy over who sold me the rebuilt motor. He's done a few of these motors, so his help is vital to this build. I needed to paint a couple more parts that were on the old motor, so he called it a day after the disassembly. It didn't take me much longer to spray the remaining parts & went in for the night also. Here's a pic of the "operation room" & the seized crankshaft bearing.

Are you planning on rebuilding this engine or scrapping it since you bought a new one ?

Not sure what I'm going to do with this motor yet. I was going to rip it apart & make trophies out of everything, but everything's like new except for that bearing. I'll probably keep it around for a while & put the word out that its there if anyone needs it..
