cabs?
« on: January 06, 2014, 05:02:45 PM »
Would a cab off say a a 65-66 f100 look good as a "fenderless" rat or are they too big......basically wondering if a 60s style pickup cab look good on a complete custom build frame bed etc being custom made with no hood and say a tractor style grille or are they too wide to look right? Any pics would be appreciated

That sounds really cool to me! I've seen Buicks, Mercedes, 60's Chevys, etc cut down into rats - why not an Effie?
Check this S-10; you could set it up something like that.

Thanks I may try and get ahold of that issue and look....my current build will continue as it is but in the future would like to do a fenderless although a 40s ford would be great I'd love one with a dually rear axle

You know that is the one thing I have noticed with this site even if they don't like what you have you won't hear any negative from them.

one of my friends said to me once ....Dude stop worrying about what other think and Build what you think is cool

hence My Wagon

it's not all that Perty yet but it grew on me.

First of all that wagon is cool without a doubt lol.....mainly was just wanting example like what you attached I couldn't picture it very well....as far as what others think I don't care much but I do think the older "skinnier" cabs look beter on a fenderless just not found quite as easy and most of the time from what I've seen not as cheap

Oh Dude I can totally relate to few and expensive, or no title.
Thanks going to rebuild the carb and cut a couple more coils on the wagon before I let it go...

Saw a cool '65 Fairlane today, languishing in a farmer's field. Looked like an excellent candidate for restoration. I owned one once; it looked good from the driver's side, but the passenger side was all dented   :-\
