New dude from New Zealand
« on: September 29, 2014, 12:23:39 AM »
Hello all, Name is Dan and I'm from Wellington, New Zealand.

Been looking at starting a ratrod project for many years but wife and young kids slowed the process so now the kids are a little older and I turned 30 I decided to bite the bullet and get into it.

I work as a mechanic at a local workshop where we do a lot of work on hotrods and American vehicles in general. The owner/boss is a genuine good guy that drives a '67 Impala as his daily driver and also owns a '57 Belair with a blown big block so needless to say I am in the right place for parts acquisition.

I have started with an '89 Mazda B2000 ute chassis and so far have a smallblock chev and a ford rear end. Long way to go and a shitload of parts to get/work to do but hey its a start right.
I want to do a truck and so far have found a couple of options but none of them have been quite right so I will keep hitting swapmeets etc and the right one will pop up.

Anyway, cheers for reading and so far this place has been a fantastic resource and wow there are some talented blokes amongst the dudes on here!
