Title: Torque Converter question
Post by: miraclepieco on July 17, 2014, 12:35:57 AM
The new engine I'm installing is a bad mo-fo with a very radical cam.  Can I get by with a stock torque converter?  I need to get this car together ASAP and don't have time to mail-order a high-stall unit.

sure , it may not idle well and try to go dead when you put it in gear . you may have to "two foot" it .

I found a 2200 rpm converter locally - just high enough stall to be able to not try to pull through stop lights.  I think I'll get it.
