I agree on the Gasser look I've got a pretty crazy idea with the chassis. I will get some more pics and see what you all think. This car will be built using parts that are used and not good enough for some people. But we build our cars and trucks to suit ourselves not others. Right?

I don't know about turbo but I have never seen a rat rod or hot rod that didn't welcome more power. 8)

I did some thinking about the direction I wanted to go with her and I never could stop thinking about the 2 Lane Blacktop car. That look is perfect to me. Keep in mind I really don't have much $$$ to spend on this build. After a lot of research and several months of not getting anything done I have a plan and it is very affordable. I did some trading and got a pretty good complete front clip and a 1980 Malibu. Why am I telling you about the Malibu? Take a look and tell me what you think.

Mating the 80 to the 55 makes since. I agree about American Graffity/2 lane Black Top 55. After both movies I have always wanted one based off of that one car.

here are some pics of the wheelbase issue being addressed. Still have to add plate to bottom of frame to add strength and cover the splice. Oh and by the way she will have the look of a old gasser just wont ride and drive like one.

Between this build and the others that are going on you know this is better than watching car warriors   ;D oops sorry Jimmy. But we don't have drama, we have anticipation. And encouragement.

SO if I stepped on a toe or two, not meant that way.

Love drilling spotwelds. Makes for a long day or two in shop. Had to remove inner and outer rockers to get ready for Wilma.

I'm in the process of putting some temporary bracing to keep her from falling apart when lifted. The tube that runs the length of the car sticking thru windows is what I will be lifting with. Still have some reinforcement to install hopefully tomorrow.

Looks kinda like an "economy Hieghts suspension" should drive a lot nice with the new legs out front.
