Picked up a '54 Ford Customline this weekend.
« on: October 19, 2015, 11:10:07 PM »
Had to drive 140 miles to get it, but well worth it!  This car is complete with a perfectly straight body with only a couple of very minor rust issues down low.  All glass is good except for a cracked driver side window and 2 wing windows are starting to delaminate.  Completely original and even has a rare steering wheel that sells for anywhere from $500-$1500 depending on condition!  I also have all the chrome trim, taillights, bumpers, etc and it's all in excellent condition.  It's gonna be a driver.  Plans call for a 5.0/AOD combo (if I can find a wrecked '87-'93 Mustang cheap enough).  Possibly an 8" out back, french the head and taillights, drop the nose a tad, grille change, etc.  Thinking of maybe a Bonneville salt flats racer kind of look.  It's all up in the air right now.  Whichever way I go isn't gonna happen for a while.  The car is sitting on the side of my house right now while I finish the roadster.  The price was too sweet and the car in too good of condition to let it pass by.  Had to grab it!
