guages classic VS digital?
« on: September 21, 2011, 08:36:23 AM »
Looking for ideas on gauges, am thinking of having a very plain dash in the roadster, and am wondering if anybody has experience with the all digital gauges kits on the market.. The reason for a small window with gauge readings inside on the car would be so that I can cover it up with a leather flap when parked. Any Ideas?
I know Rat's don't need no stink'n gauges,
but the law here wants a speedometer, and I want to see the car overheat before it blows a hose, and gets me wet, also to tell me that I need to add four more quarts of oil.

Do you consider your roadster a rat or traditional?  If so, NO digital. or hide them in the glove box.  Many traditional rod shows will not allow digital, billet etc.

A speedo, oil & temp don't take up that much room...

Cool, thanx fur the input.
was going to go with a copper metal dash, with a leather flap that unbuckles to show the gauges, then trim with leather (old cowboy belts)
will look at fit'n a speedo on/in  :o

My $.02. Digital gauges are hard to read at a glance. I've had both and prefere analog... especially for speed & tach

Guess i am still old school.....I really prefer a nice set of mechanical gauges. Leave the digitals for the rich man's cars.

Got the message, no digiatalis for me.
Anyone ever try Dolphin gauges, or TPI? I know Autometer makes a gauge or two, but I am thinking of going with a small 3 3/8" "quad set" still trying to save room wherever I can.

I've used the dolphin gauges before and would use them again. I think they are a great gauge for the money........
