Title: Recipie for a rat rod grill
Post by: RaTaTat on June 30, 2011, 01:39:41 PM
Drew this up late friday night after a few beers LOL  I have these awesome chrome twirly chunks of solid steel I want to use for something and I incorporated them in my grill design.  The only flaw is that one bar is 1" in diameter and the other is 1-1/4" solid.  I can barely lift the heavier one with one hand.  And re-bar ain't light either.  I think I'll have to redesign a light weight version.  Just putting my day dreaming to paper.  Your thoughts?   :D

Anything that is built & not bought is a good idea in my opinion. Looks pretty creative & unique & I like the idea.

I like it, thinking maybe a "chrome swirly" something on the bumper guards might add some balance. my .02$

What about instead of rebar using twisted square tubing like was used in the early 70's on choppers....just an idea...what you drew up is kick ass designing and is going to look great.... ;D

I bet I can dig out some old gates with unique/fancy rot iron pickets to use.  Time to go dig thru the scrap pile  ;)

I agree and the concept design shows great forethought...Ana is gonna have a bad ass ride, and using the wrought iron instead of rebar is going to be killer.... 8)

yeah, congrats on the sketchingskills,

just an extra idea, might be neat to group yer bars on your upper level a bit in the middle (centre third)
to have more room in the left and right third for the two lower big bars?

don't now if this makes any sense? otherwise I'll have to go and dig up my pensils  >:(
