You can see the wrench laying on the skid plate I made from above post.  Here is the front view.  It was a really thick old sign.  In the end I had to raise the car back up in the front and use cut down big block springs.  3 sets of springs and a lot of cussing later here is how it sits.  This is the only way I can clear the headers and still have travel for bumps.  I will most likely have to raise the rear an inch to match.  Sucks.

Love a 64 Falcon!  My 1st car  AND 1st broke in back seat ;D

This car smoked me at our local drag race last week in my fox body.  What a cool car!  I think it is a 49-51 Ford.  Now that I can not lower my car.......perhaps I should try this gasser look. LOL

Ok I'll bite Why?
[/quote]

I will be running EFI and controlling advance electronically.  I had to lock out the distributor so it stays in the same place in relation to the cam always.  As the rotor comes around the computer tells it when to fire.  My base will be 12 degrees which lines up nice with the post (see picture below), but since the mechanical and or vacuum advance is gone the 25 degrees of total advance misaligned the rotor with the post.  That is what is shown in the picture in the previous post (25*)   I needed the hole just to see that.

I have to install an adjustable rotor now and spin it counter clockwise without moving the cam and crank from the 25* BTDC mark so the rotor lines up with the spark plug post.  They call that "phasing" the rotor and I need the hole to see it.  That is where my spark needs to be strongest.  Especially with a supercharger.  I will give up nice alignment at base timing (idle) which is no big deal as the spark will have to jump to right a bit while it does not be as hot.

What are the chances I screw this up?  Very high!! ??? :o

Had to put the hood on to fit this big circle track radiator.  Only 3" between rad and water pump.  Guess I am going back to a mechanical clutch fan idea.  I saw a low profile 2.75" one.  Cutting it real close!!

Phased the rotor with the adjustable cap.  Lines up nice now at full advance.

This front end height may work after i get all the weight on the front.

Yea a big ass radiator here n the south is a good thing ... AC is mandatory even though my rat has a 2 60 AC!

Damn I wish I could find a deal on a 69-70 fastback stang! Probably would build it pretty much like yours.

So everything is starting to snowball.  Not enough room for mechanical or electric fans.  Not enough room for the supercharger.  Not enough room for all the damn intake tubes going to the intercooler and everywhere else.   Everything is hitting or blocking everything else.  I was just about ready to throw in the towel today.

Then it dawned on me.  I have to quit holding back on this car.  I have a welder and a cutting torch.

Tossed the driveshaft, drilled more hole and cut more stuff. Moved the motor back and got whopping 3/4" more. That should be enough to fit my fan in there.

Went back and forth a million times and finally ordered a centrifugal blower. Hope it fits. Deciding factor came down to not being able to cool a roots blower on a SBF without going 4" higher and spending tons of money.

Because I know I have to post pictures, I threw these on.

So the supercharger I wanted did not fit.  The tall valve covers to clear the rollers and high lift cam block the darn intake opening.  Who designed this crap?

Intercooler,  TransAm side fender intake etc.... Waste of time.   Back to the drawing board.  If I could afford to buy all my parts at once I would not have these issues :(

So I am going with this option.  If this does not give you a woody then you just aren't right  :P :P

The 700 hp goal will now be around 600 at 6800 rpm.  On the upside, the 3000 to 4000 RPM HP area will be about 100hp higher than the centrifugal SC would have given me.  So it is a great trade off.  The downside to the roots blower and why it was not my 1st choice is it is hard to cool and can not spin as fast as a centrifugal which will keep me at 10 PSI and below.  Reading up on water methanol injection now.

The roots also shortens my area fans.  I am back where I started.  I think I will try 4 9" fans with no shroud.

Not real sure what will happen to the hood.  Have to wait until I can afford the EFI to find out.

The great thing about old cars is there is room-o-plenty under the hood to work on them.  I destroyed that whole concept!  Tight fit.  Just enough room to get a fan belt in there.

Since I can't fit a shroud and I live in Florida AND I will have a non-intercooled blown stroker........ I am trying this.

Four 9" SPAL fans on 2 diff relays and temp switches.  I will also probably add water/methanol (Window Washer fluid) cooling between the EFI and top of the blower that is set to spray at 5PSI and above.

Gotta have a pass thru hand brake to do some sliding.  It also has a lock out for smoking burnouts.

Have not plumbed it yet for lack of the correct adapters.  Trying to match up brake line fittings is like playing the lottery.  I know one of these days a summit box will show up and the threads on the adapters will actually fit!!

Not too exciting, but progress nonetheless.

I really could not go out the side of the body without loosing the back seats..... I have 3 kids.  I could not go under the subrfames without being too low.  I just made dumps for now.  The lowest part behind the drivers side collector is only about 3 fingers off the ground.  My Foxbody is the same and it seems to do alright if I avoid speed bumps.
