F1050 build
« on: May 08, 2016, 08:05:27 PM »
Eric named it F1050 as it's gonna be a F600 on a F450 chassis. Heres a few pix to give everyone a nibble of what were planning. It's got a 7.3 turbo Navastar 5 speed manual. Gonna use it as a tow pig as MsDees truck is really to light duty Gonna widen a Ranger bed to fit the dual wheels

Got a bunch done today Got the floor cutout. Got the rear of the cab cut off and mocked up. 42" of stretch. Eric sandblasted the running boards and spray bombed them.

Thanks for the link to your FB page. If this build is anywhere near as unique as the Boog Bug, we're all in for a treat!

Got the radiator support located and mounts built. Got the cab firewall recessed and located close to where it's gonna sit. It's gonna be like the new F-series, gotta remove the cab to check the oil Hahaha :P

Got the other side almost done today Gotta put my beer goggles on and think about it for the rear. :P Think I'm gonna build a die and press them at dads. I've also got the most laid back helpers in the shop. They don't care if die grinder air compressors or welders are running. Lets hope they are good mousers and I have better luck keeping them around.
