Nice work. The more I learn about MII suspension, the more impressed I am with them.
What kind of body is going on it - coupe, c-dan, pu?  What's a J-bar?

It's gonna be a 1936 Chevy pickup. A j bar is like a panhard bar, except this one is shaped like a j, and comes off of the axle shaft housing. I don't have a pic yet, but once I get a chance I'll take a pic.

That looks great! But I hate the look of them on fender-less cars. On a full-fendered car it would be awesome! Nice job!

Totally agree. Tiz the set up the owner wanted for safety, the motor that's going in this frame is in excess if 750 hp. He wants to make sure the suspension can handle the engines power.

Okay, here is a small update on the 1936 Chevy and the reason for the mustang ii suspension, which will be a safe set up. This engine is massive and the builder of the engine couldn't open up the carbs on his run stand. It was lifting the run stand off the ground. I think as you can see from the pics, when this engine goes into full power, this front end should be able to handle all the horsepower.
The wheel base was measured and it's the same length as a fox body mustang, so hopefully with the solid motor mounts and tranny mount, all this horsepower should go to the back wheels and either smoke the tires or lift the front end off the ground.

Oh, and as you can see from the last picture, I did a frame extension to hold the fuel cell for this massive engine. It's non load bearing so when this truck launches, it should move upward nicely, lol.

Okay, I see what a J-bar is - essentially a J-shaped panhard. Cool setup.

Exactly and this j bar is huge. Should help keep the rear end from moving under power.

MAN!!  If you substituted a set of coil-over shocks on that front end, it would even look great  fenderless!!

It actually has adjustable coil overs on the front and rear. Just dont have a real good picture of em. We have a friend with scales so we can set up all four corners when the truck is done. Also picked up a 1929 ford truck bed to go on this frame. Kind of a shame to cut up a box that is in such good shape.
