Topic: Hispanic Festival Car Show Cheyenne Wy 2012

Went to a car show today and saw some pretty nice vehicles and met a ton of great people. The show was to run from 10am to 5:30pm. Well, we got a heavy thunderstorm rumble on top of us and i had to get the mach 1 to the garage. Went back on drove my rat home in the rain. Should help with the paint job i have been applying to it over the last year, rust is a color right?
Anyways, according to the rules, if the show is/was rained out, no trophies/awards. So i will never know if my rat did any good or not, but it was fun.

The most notable thing about your post is the hours of the show: 10:00 to 5:30. How enlightened!  I wish the geezers in my area would realize that car owners don't necessarily want to get up at sunrise on a Saturday to attend their shows. Then they shut down at 2:00 - just when the spectators are flocking in!  Hell, they're all so old, I guess they need to be in bed by 8:00...

LOL.......funny you mention that. Week before last i stopped over at a friend of mines whom i had heard was under the weather. His name is ray and he is 85 and his wife betty whom is 86. I talked to betty for about 1/2 hour at the door of the house and she said ray couldn't come to the door because he was sick. As we talked she told me ray hadn't been outside the house in 2 years now because of his health. I left and searched our local craigslist and found a 3 wheel mobility scooter for sale and bought it. Delivered it to ray and betty. When ray came outside, he started crying and couldn't stop saying thank you. So ray hoped on it and we went for a ride on his property, as we got to the back of the pasture, he stopped and started crying again. Told me if he was to die today, this will be the happiest memory he has and will take this moment to his grave........It felt awesome to give something like that to someone whom couldn't afford it and to see the look on his face as he got to see things on his property he hadn't seen in 2 years........Betty kept wanting to pay me for the scooter but i told betty "the look on rays face is payment enough......."

Felt really good to do something for someone like this. The look on his face and the tears he shed made it worth every penny i spent.....
