What type of motor? Looks like an excellent save and getting a new lease on life.

It will be the motor that is on my profile pic. It is a small block chevy that has been seriously tampered with & is pushing around 425-450 horses.

I think that your profile picture will need some serious work to fit, looks a tad small to me. ;D
That will be an awsome motor to drop in. But then youll have to change your profile, right. Maybe one of that lill chevy smokin the hides ?

Lol. Yeah, as soon as the tires hit the blacktop the first thing that I am going to do is burn them off. Will have to get some pics & video of that for sure. Will probably really piss off one of the neighbors, but who cares!!! This particular neighbor does not get along with anyone around me. I have my motor on a stand in the garage where I can run it & he already gets mad at me and comes out in the yard yelling every time I fire it up. You can bet that I am definitely going to do the first burnout right in front of his house with the headers WIDE OPEN!!! Lol.

New pics of the build, got the motor & The Muncie 4-speed tranny all prepped & together & put in the car over the weekend. Still have the old valve covers on though, so disregard them. I have a much nicer set that will go on once the motor is in & all buttoned up, did not want to take any chances on scratching them up during the install.

Thanks. I had driven it up & down the road a couple times, but today is the first true test. Drove it 25 miles to work & most things were fine. I did find a couple of problem, but minor. Going to have to pull the tranny out & fix a leak around the front cover behind the clutch & going to have to rebuild my shifter. It was an old one that I had & it is just wore & every now & then it hangs between gears. Luckily I still have a big enough hole in the floor to reach down with a crowbar & unlock it. Lol. It's all in the name of having a hot rod though, always going to be working on the little bugs here & there.

Way kool. I remember a 59 Ford that I had back in the day. It had a Hurst Bang Shifter. And that puppy would hang up at the wrong time. But never did when I was raceing. Go figure. But got tired of craweling on the ground. Went and got a Mr. Gasket shifter. Life was sweet. And craweling around on your back in the Denver winter's with snow, aint pretty.

Luckily I don't have to crawl around on the ground. The hole I cut in the floor is not covered up yet & I have a tire tool laying beside me & can just reach down with it & unlock it. Still not much fun though when you are stuck in the middle of the road with people behind you wondering what the hell is going on. Lol.

Thanks a lot. I have really been working my but off trying to get it ready. Lots of long days & late nights. Even though he cant go like he used to, my dad has hung right in there with me & helped me out a whole LOT. I could not have got it done this quick without his help. A couple of friends offered to help me out, but when it comes down to the work they always seem to have something else going on. Lol.

It is great to have help from your dad!  My dad taught me to weld, to paint and do body work...how to hone up a nice crosshatch, fit rings...the whole thing.  He was sort of grumpy, and didn't approve of much, but the car thing was different.  It was where we connected.  My dad's gone now, but I got the message about the power of Dads helping.  I helped my daughter with her stuff when I could. Now I'm working on the grandkids.   Any of you guys with little kids, they look up to you and want your time and attention.  You'll get back every minute later on.  Double.  Build something of theirs with them, and let them help you on yours.  Teach 'em.
