Many automotive forums preach that "safety is paramount."  The truth is, these old 30's vehicles aren't very safe. If you wreck one you are much more likely to get hurt than in a modern car with airbags, crumple zones, safety harnesses, crash-proof bumpers, etc. If safety REALLY is paramount, stay in your SUV -  don't drive an antique vehicle! 

For me however, the reward is worth the risk!

It's worth the risk for me too. Hell you can get hurt taking a shower, slipping, falling and breaking a leg. Should we not shower? You can get burnt by spilling coffee in your lap, should we not drink coffee? I understand the safety thought and as long as you have brakes, wiper blades, etc......your ride is safe.
