39 international ? Difference ?
« on: October 14, 2012, 11:56:15 AM »
I bought this 39 international. It looks like a 1 ton truck. Is there is any difference between the 1 ton cab and the 1/2 ton cab ? The fenders look pretty big on this truck.

The motor is not locked up in this truck and I was told by previous owner that he turned it over when ever he walked by it and thought about it for the last 40 plus years. And also said the motor was just recently over hauled when he parked it. He only parked it because he had started using another truck instead of this one.

Is the motor worth anything ? I believe it would crank. I put a battery in the truck and the starter will still turn the motor.

Any thoughts what you all would do with the truck ? lol

I'm not really familar with the old binders body's, but great find. I do know that you can still buy parts for that truck and get that bad boy on the road. I think if i were to build that truck, i would keep the duals, slam er to the ground and go.....as far as the motor, i'm sure it has some value, but probably not allot. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah the dually idea keeps running threw my head. I just dont know where to find rims for the truck. They have rusted beyond use :(

I think I would just like to drive the truck like it is. Sure it would take some work , but what doesnt.

The big truck cabs are the same as the pickup; not sure about the fenders however.

You could always do this with it    :P

The fenders are defiantly different in that pic and my truck.

Iam really thinking build a frame for it. keep the rear axle and the dually's and the larger front straight axle.  Or maybe just modify its frame till it is slammed on the ground :) dual wheels in the back big wheels in the front. it just might be bad ass !

Maybe even keep the original engine with some stack up the back of the cab some flame throwers and a really nice wood bed out of some rough cut lumber. !

This is the look I would head towards if I owned your truck. I would slam it a little closer to the ground though. If I had the extra cash right now, I would purchase and finish building this one. I could still do some kewl stuff with this one. 1949 Ford Truck F4 $3900

That's what I love about our rat rod hobby. We build to our liking not to certain specs.
