When they were popular there was no way I'd be caught dead in one. Today I'd take one in a heartbeat

My folks had a '62 with a 327 340hp in it!  The old man used to embarrass the hell outa' guys with Mustangs and Barracudas and such!  :P  Most people back then didn't realize how good a wagon would hook!!  He'd be gone and they were still sitting there spinning their wheels!!

Actually, it's a '63.

HOW can you tell?

Mostly, the body lines give it away.  The '63 has that lower line that runs front to back, about bumper level.  It is much more pronounced on a '63.  '62 has a sloping line that runs from headlight level down to the rear bumper. A '61 has a mope pronounced line along the break-over line at the top of the fenders and doors and a "brow" across the front. My favorite, the '64, has a more square, "slab sided" look with parallel lines running front to back that are joined by a vertical line at the rear.  Each year had a distinct trunk or tailgate line.
