Liability insurance
« on: December 12, 2017, 01:51:33 PM »
Anyone have any recommendations for liability Insurance? I looked up a few of the "classic" insurers but mainly looks like they do full coverage. I just want a decent price and to call and say I want liability on my 38 chevy and not get into the whole discussion of it being a ratrod.

I went thru my regular car insurance. They let me do like a bike where I can shut it off during the winter. It costs a little less than one of the "custom" companies. I'm seriously thinking about going with the full coverage as savings is so little.

I have USAA and they let me put what I want on whatever I ask them to.
I have a '23 Ford touring car, '30 REO Flying Cloud, '37 Plymouth Rumble seat Coupe, '49 Packard Coupe Deluxe and a '57 Plymouth plaza on our policy with No Problems from them. And, our rates are Stupid Cheap!
We have a total of 11 vehicles on  with them!

I use Hagerty for Lockjaw.  $230.00 for a year with full coverage plus towing!!  Most companies won't do a rat and won't do anything older than 1966.  You must have it registered, licensed, and they want it garage kept.  They'll want specific photos besides everything else and they allow you to value it yourself.  Lockjaw is insured for $10,000.00.  I sent them these four and one of the interior and they had me covered in less than two days!!

I ended up emailing my regular insurance. For full coverage I need an appraisal and pictures.....for liability like I want she just writes it up like a normal policy and it shouldn't cost much.
