titling
« on: November 26, 2017, 05:56:51 PM »
I read about people using titling company's  to title a car old. Is this a land and house titling co or something different. I have had my experiences with the dmv that sucka. I have a old truck cab that needs a title and registration. I was a parts truck. This might be a good way to go.

I have never used any company but there are title companies that do just that. Most need proof of ownership and VIN. Thinking it was $300-350 range. Got a buddy in the south? Mississippi/Georgia ect. Some of them are easy to get titles. Illinois you have to jump thru hoops, stand on your head and give up your first born, but it can be done.

I also am in Missouri and had/have a similar delima. I looked into the title companies and it was going to be almost 900 dollars so I scratched that idea..... Google  getting a Vermont title for a hot rod or rat rod something to that effect. Apparently you can get registration through Vermont without residence.

Thanks for the reply.  I have check the Vermont titling. I would have to pay taxes on 10500 dollars because that is the low nada value for it. So it would be around 740 dollars after the taxes and fee's. It's not worth 1000 right now, but that has the best reviews that works here in missouri.

Allot of times if you spend the time and fill out all the required paperwork, vin inspection, bill of sale, etc...you can get a title for your cab and avoid those title company’s. https://www.dmv.org/buy-sell/new-cars/specially-constructed-vehicle-title.php

Thanks hotwheels for your reply. I will check with my dmv again. I might try another town dmv and see how that goes.

As far as finding out what all you need I would say best bet is call Jeff city and get a solid answer. As far as dealing with license offices I hear republic is pretty pain free.
