Well,Its been sitting in that same spot for over 20 yrs.First get it moved. Then I have 2 engines I'm thinking of.A 500ci caddy/TH400 or a 1948 230ci dodge 6 cyl flathead/3 spd.I have both combo's.Undecided yet.Corvair front end in it now.Going to find a early 30's ford drop axle to go back in place to make it more traditional. It has a 70's Pontiac 10 bolt in the back now. Will keep that.Might chop the top, havn't decided yet.I want it to be low, loud and mean looking with fatties in the back, skinnies up front,Whitewalls...

That Corvair front end is one of the most durable and easily maintained front ends to grace hotrodding!!  I'm pretty sure that there are now disc brake kits that can be made to work with it and if it was installed properly it would seem to me to be cooler than $#!+ as a rat build.

Blackwater,i get what your saying. The corvair front end is nice. And I do have chev s10 spindles that convert it to discs. But it is not installed correctly. Its just bolted on the bottom of the frame and has a manual rack and pinion from some Nissan crudely mounted on it.I may look at it further.Maybe see if I can get it to sit lower. Its raked way too high in the front. Thanks for your opinions!!! Keep'em comin!!

Yeah!  I've done many "clean-ups" where somebody took too many shortcuts or tried to do something they really shouldn't have tried.  Sometimes the clean-up is harder than scrapping the whole mess and starting over.  You'll have to judge for yourself.

I'll be happy to give advice or provide hook-ups for stuff I've found the right people or information to help you out.

Looks like a rack and pinion steering sector under there.  It should be moved forward and leveled after the engine/transmission are mounted. The Corvair front end looks pretty good. A good cleanup on the installation, a disc brake kit and some five lug rotors and you're all set.

Love that Caddy engine and you can hang almost any GM transmission on the business end of that big boy.

Its a Nissan manual rack. Its not mounted correctly.Gonna fix that soon. The corvair suspension is welded on with 1x2 steel pieces to the frame. Its a hack job.My dad is all about function over form.If it works, its good enough.LOL..Yikes! I am not that way.The cab is welded on to the frame.Gonna fix that.Still has the original International rear shocks bolted to the 10 bolt rear end.All that's going.Even the original helper springs are still on it.Its gonna be a fun truck to build.I have a TCI street/strip TH 400 trans that wont grenade under the massive torque of the caddy engine.

And all the bushings in the corvair front end are gone.Clarks corvair, here I come! I have a set of chevy s10 disc brake spindles I'm going to use.I'll have to source larger ball joint but that's not hard.
