Project Ugly
« on: December 06, 2015, 06:01:46 PM »
Got the frame stripped and the cab sitting where I want. I need to get some bolts for the mounts and make it permanent. This truck will be built from all my spare parts I have laying around. I have the motor already so I'll start that after cab is mounted!

GO MAN GO!!!

I was hoping to have the cab mounted last nigh but didn't have any 4 1/2" X 1/2" bolts so it had to wait might get it done tonight if all goes well! Also going to try to get my motor mount plates cut and ready.

Got some garage time tonight and got the cab mounts tached in place. I also got the motor mount plates cut out and ready for the motor and trans install. After I get the engine and trans in I'll pull the cab back off and final weld everything and make my trans crossmember.

Slower than the others? If so its still going to be right on time im sure. Nice work. Who does your harness ECU work for those stand alones? I have used Current Performance on my LS S10 Harness setup.

Thanks! I have a local guy flash the pcm and a buddy does my harness and wires my trucks. I could probably father wiring but it would sit in my garage forever if I done it!

Got the engine and transmission in last night and switched the rear end out. I will have to change the rear out I got the wrong ratio the roo code wasn't the same as the gears. Guess someone switched them out at some point. Need to make my trans crossmember and get the drive shaft together. Thinking I'll do a column shifter just to see what they are like and help with the cost of the build not going to be any high dollar frills with this one!

Got the cab pulled back off and welded the mounts up. I also made my trans crossmember while the cab is off and got it all in. The rear end I had was just an open diff one wheel thrill with 3:08 gears so I changed that out for a 3:42 posi tonight as well. Just a little progress for now. I plan on running the fuel lines and brake lines before the cab goes back on to it will be much easier this way I think!

It's gonna be a hodgepodge of all my extra parts I've got laying around so I figured that name fit it!

Well from all your builds you've shared to today, they have all been bad ass. So even if this one is ugly, it's gonna be badass.

Went a head and got my driveshaft put in its out of a ranger so I had to use to cobble joints it measures 47.5" center to center of ujoints. Also wire wheeled the frame and sprayed some rattle can black just to clean it up a bit. I'll do more as I go!

Thanks guys I haven't done anything to old ugly in a few days. I've been laying around all week all I've managed to do was order a radiator for it! Did make a trip to Covington Ky and picked up my wife a new ride it's a 2011 SS Camaro with 8k miles on it. I should be in good graces for a while I hope!
