« on: May 31, 2011, 08:33:36 PM »
I know this may seem like a simple questions or i may be so vague you will not be able to answer it. The solid front axels i see on a lot of the rats..... what do or did the come off of? And i have seen several that have a stack of shackles. whats up with that. i need to do a lot of research and reading so i  can get a good grasp
thanks

Most people that are using a stock straight axle use a 37-41 ford car axle . They have the good spindles that will accept the disc brake kits that speedway sells . All the early ford axles are made from forged steel and are very strong and can be heated and bent and can also be welded on  . I have always tried to find the 37-41 model axles on my builds . You will expect to pay $250.00 for a complete axle with spring and wishbones .The good axles can be identified by a round back spindle . These spindles can be added to any of the early ford axles as well as aftermaket tube axles or superbell axles . Hope I was not to long winded
