body work question

so there is the question I am running fiber glass over the welded areas , do I sand it smooth or leave it a little rough to maintain the rat rod look ?

On the bug I left the welds exposed and put fiberglass cloth strips on her side I tell everyone I'm rough and she is finished and refined Hahaha  :P I'm not in the shop but if I remember I'll take some pix

all the welds are ground down pretty good already so it would be just the fiber glass that is a little rough I think that is the way to go ,
