some people must think if you take an older vehicle and bolt a different front end on it, you can call it a rat rod. Not sure where they come up with their concepts or what they may be drinking, but they are out of their minds. dont get me wrong I'm not a expert builder or claim to be. but some of these things I see people try to pass off are an insult to the name of rat rod or even hot rod.

Ha ha, but seriously folks...there are still many "reactionary" cars being built - an opposite reaction to the extreme perfection that became the norm in street rodding.  The goal of street rodding was to build cars as perfect and beautiful  (and therefore as EXPENSIVE ) as possible.  People who got sick of that are now reacting by building cars as cheap and ugly as possible.

I dont know. I have been involved in this hobby since the late 60's, damn that is a long ass relationship, and street rodding started out as a build what there is on your budget. Then people found an opening to take there talents and produce all of the fun and shinny stuff that we have at our check books ability. And yes there have been trailer queens for as long as I can remember plus the daily drivers. Which I am a member of.  As for the hobby it takes people like this guy to make a bad name for us. And if I pull up to a cruize or any other function and that UPOS is there, you can beat I will parks as far away as possible.
