Rat Rod Governing Body
« on: April 29, 2014, 09:03:09 AM »
So here is my Question

What's up with the National Rat Rod Association are they the governing body for Rat rods everywhere?

Do all the Rat Rod Clubs join them?

What's their Purpose..

Sorry if this has been asked before Just New to this and full of questions.

Mission
The official mission of the NRRA:

To support the rat rod community

To help organize rat rod community functions

To maintain a standard of creativity, ingenuity, and reputation

To promote safe rat rod building practices

 To preserve rat rod history

To serve as the official voice of the rat rod community

Description

The NRRA is more of a support group than a governing body, focusing more on the promotion of a healthy rat rod scene than on imposing its rules and regulations. No, it's not about rules. It's about a fellowship of automotive creativity, ingenuity, and function over form.

Rule #1: There are no rules.

The National Rat Rod Association is an organization created to help support and promote the rat rod building community.

The NRRA is more of a support group than a governing body, focusing more on the promotion of a healthy rat rod scene than on imposing its rules and regulations. No, it's not about rules. It's about a fellowship of automotive creativity, ingenuity, and function over form.

Rat rods are not "art cars." They are not death traps, junkers, or trophy cars. They aren't hauled to shows on trailers, and they don't glitter and gleam in the sunshine. Rats are bad-ass machines built from necessity, for one reason and one reason only: to drive.

The NRRA is an organizational voice to back this counter-culture and the people within it.

To be honest I have never heard of them, at least do not remember anything bout them. But as with any type of organization it is only as good as its member base and as long as they abide to the policy's and procedures. Then again they can not enforce any of that.

I dont know, Guys ?

I tried contacting them to start a chapter in my area: no response. If they aren't completely defunct, they soon will be.

The owner is steve, the guy that owns rat rod magazine. I'm not going to say my real thoughts about why the nrra was put together, but it cost's you money to be a part of that program.

personally if it were i, and i was looking to start a rat rod club. I would post in my local craigslist, something like "rat rod owners wanted" and then make a post explaining how you want to start a club. I don't think i would pay someone for permission to have a club.
