My 32 Ford coupe rebuild
« on: October 04, 2012, 11:38:45 AM »
Well to start off I bought this car this past April. The body is a 32 three window coupe that has had lots of custom work done As you see with the pictures. The frame is a custom built race car frame. The motor is a Chevy 350 and trans is a manual 3 speed. The rear is out of a 89 Ford Thunderbird witch is an independent rear. Now for the front it is a mustang II suspension with power steering.[attachimg=1]

That is what I was told. I know from what he told me that the roof had lots of work done to it. Thanks for liking it.

That look's fun, lot of reworking to make it look like that, visor, body mid line, rear roof, and rear gutter, and doors, and body length , etc.
 but it ain't glass.

Well I have not driven it the car needs some finishing. I decided to take it apart to go over everything and redo some things. Tomorrow I'm taking the body off and I'll go from there.

With the body mods that were done on the car, that is why I bought it because of how different it is.

If you don't have four buddies hanging around that is the best way to get the job done .  ;D

I used to ask my buddies to help lift my cab on and off my truck every time they came over.
Now they don't come over any more.     :P

well I think I was misinformed.... From what people were telling me my car might not be a 32 Ford...... It might be a 1930 Whippe. I would still be happy with that.  Any thoughts on it being a Whippet?  :o

From looking at the car closer, i am having trouble figuring out exactly what it is. Most car's i can identify by the door lines. It looks like someone may have done some work on this cars door line as part of customizing it. Here is a picture of what i look for when identifying a car or truck. It usually works.

I just don't know...... I'm so torn of what it is. I have been searching pictures for hours it looks like one thing one time and something else another time. Well back to some more researching  ???

Some guys on my facebook page looked at it and i think they guessed it right away. It appears to be a 1930-32 Desoto Coupe. Someone did some great work on the body lines and the drip rail, as well as the front of the cab. But looking at it side by side to a desoto, it's right on the money.
