New member/New Project...
« on: April 24, 2014, 09:06:56 PM »
Take this chance I'm new to the forums here 26 yrs old and live in Montana. Just picked up this 38 chevy pickup needs some work but that's all part of the process.  Plan on changing the front suspension to lower the front end as well as possibly z'ing the rear end, only if I can still use the original frame. Also plan on running a SBC of some sort. Looking forward to getting advice from everyone on here. Sorry for the long post let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Welcome.Looks like a good clean base to start with. I'd use that frame and box it in.

Welcome!

Those photos brig back memories of my 38 Chevy truck when I started...my build thread is on this site.

If you have questions post them here and you will get answers, there are a lot of experienced builders on this site that are more than willing to offer advice.

Good Luck!

Here's some better pictures finally got it to may garage tonight. After having it in my garage on a level surface I'm not sure I'm gonna z or channel It like I had planned. I really like how it sits as is. With that s ai d things could change.

That's a cool truck, no doubt.  Pretty clever how they changed the front end from parallel leaf to transverse.
