7.3 update
« on: March 19, 2016, 07:13:23 AM »
Couldn't get the 7.3 diesel to run so I put an Injector pump on it.Still wouldn't run.Took the front off the engine to check timing It was ok. So I ordered a diesel pressure tester and checked the pressures and found first two around 125 dry 210 wet then I checked no.5 and it had ZERO pressure dry and Zero wet Couldn't get the turbo off so I/We pulled the front end then the motor.Gotta run to Rural King this AM then tearing a diesel engine apart and find something that is probably FUBAR Hoping it's just a valve.

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

Kinda hard to see but it spun a rod bearing.Found a rod bolt but no nut.Why do I seem to always get the engines that somebody has messed with? Guess it's buyer beware! Hope Karma bites him in the A$$. Now I guess it's time to find a short block somewhere.

WOOHOO The junk yard motor ran and built 40 psi oil pressure. Ended up getting a rebuilt starter. Good starters make a world of difference. Eric is gonna mount the radiator so we can let it run for a while then it's 1955 tear down time!!!
