6 volt wiper motor
« on: January 31, 2015, 08:44:41 PM »
I was thinking about using my 6 volt wiper motor on my 51 Dodge with a 12 V adapter. How good will the wipers work by doing this? I just want something in case you get caught out in a pop up shower or whatever instead of relying on rain x. Never done it before so I have no idea. Will the motor hold up ok? It'll be cheaper than a 12V after market conversion, hopefully I won't need them to much.

In the main feed to the switch you can install a "runt" that does the electrical conversion, Speedway, and others can supply, thus giving 6 volt power to whatever it feeds.

This is the part i would use, then you won't have to worry about anything with the wiper motor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Speedway-Ceramic-Voltage-Reducer-For-Fans-Motors-12V-to-6-Volt-/131416481427
