'68 Chevy C-10 SWB Conversion
« on: January 27, 2012, 12:52:38 PM »
A couple days ago I had a customer drop off a long wheel base C-10 chevy truck to be converted to a short wheel base . He has a pretty cool swb frame that has air ride and a 454 in it . I am swapping the body onto the new frame and shortening the bed for him .

Well that's a whole different truck,
not really, back window, and some trim stuff. Still rare with air.

I have a 72 Blazer that I rebuilt.     A 67' is really different than the 68' yo 72's. As someone said a 67' has a smaller rear window and 67's don't have marker light's on the sides.    There might be more but thats my 2 cents.

My time on this project is almost over , I installed most of the body yesterday and will finish all the electricals early next week . I think the stance turned out great , that is the nice part about air ride suspension . I was going to take some assembly pictures but I got in the groove and completely forgot to .

wow that was quick,
Truck has a great look to it, did you have to do any rust repair, bottom of doors, floor, rocker panels?

That will most likely happen down the road , the door thresh holds need attention for sure other than that it wasn't very bad rotted . We are getting all the air bag switches and wiring hooked up today and maybe finish everything by mid-week . Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well .

Adjustment and alteration time : New wheels and tires , we will be running a 20 x 8.5 with a 275/40/20 on the front and a 20 x 10 with a 315/35/20 on the rear . The front clearance is good but the rear rubs on the inside , no big deal just widen the tubs a few inches .
