Sad
« on: March 26, 2016, 08:42:41 PM »
While perusing Craigslist, I happened upon the first hot rod I ever built, now for sale. I built this truck from the frame up, spent years searching for the best original fenders, hand-selected every nut and bolt, etc etc. I was such a perfectionist on it that it took eight years to complete. The fellow I sold it to had it for 5 or 6 years.  Kinda sad to see it for sale again.

A beautiful build. But deep down inside don't you wish to be the owner of that truck again ?

Yeah, I do. There's no hot rod like your first. I put my soul into that truck, sacrificed lots of weekends when I was single. Makes me sad to see it being unwanted and homeless now.  Hopefully someone will buy it and appreciate all the love that went into it.

Damn that's nice. I know that feeling too, seeing something you labored and loved going to yet someone else.

I figure that's a lot better than watching it be hauled away after some drunk destroys it in a head on collision.

That's the way I parted with my first hotrod!!

The owner has consigned my first build to a professional sales lot. They posted this video on YouTube. My wife was in tears, as I finished this car about the time we were married.
