1-wire or 3-wire Chevy Alternator?



For most applications, the advantages of a THREE-WIRE alternator will far outweigh the little time saved with a ONE-WIRE installation.

Both types have the voltage regulator in the alternator, but there are important differences between the ONE-WIRE and THREE-WIRE systems.

I did the one wire on my 400 ford engine......works like a champ once i wired it correctly.
Love building rat rods, driving mustangs, and building websites.

Yep, One wire for me too, No problems...

Simple for any engine...cheapest too
Take a kid to a car or bike show...pass the hobby on to the next generation
